Moutcha Bay Resort is pleased to offer guided ocean kayak tours in Nootka Sound on Vancouver Island. The calm, protected waters of Tlupana Inlet are ideal for a relaxed and fun exploration of our local flora and fauna. Our certified kayak guides are knowledgeable, friendly and focused on your safety. No matter what your kayaking experience level is, we will make sure that your tour is comfortable and memorable. Kayak tours are available from June until September.
The Conuma Estuary Tour lasts 2 hours with a maximum group size of 6 guests.
Set out on a two-hour exploratory tour with our certified kayaking guide and marine naturalist. This interpretive journey to the Conuma River Estuary departs from Moutcha Bay Resort and is available to kayakers of all experience levels.
River estuaries are the nurseries of the ocean, providing breeding grounds and safe refuge for a variety of fish, birds and mammals. To migrating birds, estuaries are critical feeding grounds, providing an opportunity to rest and refuel on their journey. Black bears and other mammals frequent the Conuma River estuary in search of berries, green vegetation and salmon.
This tour includes ocean kayak and safety equipment, paddling orientation, and a certified kayaking guide. Your tour takes place within the sheltered waters of Moutcha Bay. Your guide will ensure that you have a safe and fun on-the-water adventure.
This longer four-hour ocean kayaking tour gently glides you in and around Moutcha Bay, Head Bay, and the Sucwoa River estuary. This tour lasts 4 hours with a maximum group size of 6 guests.
Tours depart at Moutcha Bay Resort. All experience levels are welcome.
There’s plenty of time to explore and learn about our ocean environment and marine life. We will stop partway for a relaxing beach lunch which will give you a chance to explore the intertidal zone and learn about the various flora and fauna that inhabit the seafloor and tide pools.
