A Leader in Outdoor Adventures

Nootka Marine Adventure has been a leader in outdoor adventures on the West Coast of Vancouver Island for over ten years. Our goal has always been to provide our guests with memorable experiences and a lasting appreciation of our natural resources.

School Groups

We believe that the schoolroom can and should be extended beyond four walls. Outdoor education takes students away from their desks and places them into the natural world where they can experience meaningful, experiential learning. Some of the benefits of outdoor learning include building community amongst students, obtaining real-world skills, and developing a better understanding of students’ environments and world cultures.

Our primary mission is to promote a deep and lasting connection between youth and the natural world. Our school group program is engaging, educational and accessible: A series of workshops, based out of Moutcha Bay Resort, are designed to teach real-world skills and knowledge that can be applied throughout their lives.

Custom school group itineraries are available with any combination of workshops, skills sessions and fun outdoor adventures. Our education team will help to create the perfect itinerary for your school group goals.

Program Hosting

Three outstanding resort venues are available for your outdoor education program. The secluded natural playground of Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet are perfect for outdoor training programs, skills development clinics, and certification courses.

Our resorts are accessible to numerous salt and freshwater learning locations. Hit the water: we have Class I-IV sea kayaking waters, whitewater rafting on the Gold River, and river paddling routes at the nearby Conuma, Tahsis or Leiner Rivers. Road-accessible freshwater lakes offer many activity options. Get active on land by exploring the famed Nootka Island Trail and Hesquiat Trail or visit our many lesser-known hiking trails between Gold River and Tahsis. The spectacular Upana Cave systems are only a short drive away, as are numerous mountain biking or ATV trails near to Moutcha Bay Resort.

We offer flexible indoor and outdoor space for your group, as well as exclusive resort booking opportunities for large groups. Onsite resort activities include access to a fleet of rental boats, guided fishing charters, kayak and SUP rentals. Each resort offers WiFi and indoor or outdoor presentation spaces. Dedicated staff is available to assist in making your program successful and enjoyable.
