What is the deposit policy? We require a minimum 10% deposit (50% for campsites) at the time of booking, with a total deposit of 50% (90% for campsites) due by November 1st to continue to hold your booking. Payment in full is required by May 1st of your arrival year. Deposits will be automatically charged to your card on file unless otherwise requested.
What is the cancellation policy? Cancellations made outside of 60 days from arrival are subject to a 10% cancellation charge (50% for campsites). Cancellations made within 60 days from arrival forfeit their full payment.
Are pets allowed? We love pets and are pleased to offer pet-friendly accommodation at Moutcha Bay Resort in our waterfront chalets as well as our campground and camping yurt. We ask that you keep your furry friend in a carrier or on a leash of 6 feet or less and do not leave him or her unattended at any time. Pets must be restrained while in open bed pick-up trucks. Please collect pet waste and deposit into a trash receptacle. Nootka Sound Resort and Newton Cove Resort are not suitable for pets.
Are campfires permitted in the campground? Yes – each campsite includes a fire ring. Please be aware that Vancouver Island often experiences fire bans in the summer months. Visit www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/wildfire-status/fire-bans-and-restrictions for up-to-date information on burning restrictions in our province.
Do you sell firewood? Yes – firewood is available at Moutcha Bay Resort at $10 per bin. Ask at the Front Desk and we’ll be happy to deliver some to your campsite. Please note that the gathering of firewood is prohibited in our campground and picnic areas.
Is there internet access? Yes – all of our Resorts offer complimentary WiFi in our guest and meeting rooms.
Is there cellphone service? There is no cell phone coverage at any of our Resorts. However, we do offer a complimentary telephone at the Front Desk for guest use.
Are gratuities included? Gratuities are not included in our pricing and are much appreciated by our shore staff and fishing guides. Gratuities may be added to your room charges and paid for by credit card upon departure. We feel that a gratuity is a reflection of the service you received. A customary gratuity for a fishing guide is between $70-$100 per day, and 20% of your stay for shore staff.
What if I have special dietary requirements? We do our very best to accommodate food allergies and special requirements. Please let us know of your request prior to your arrival.
Can I smoke? Smoking is not permitted in any of our guest rooms or public spaces. Please smoke in designated areas only and dispose of cold cigarette waste in trash receptacles – not on the ground, fire pits, or ocean. Smoking in rooms is subject to a minimum $250 cleaning charge.
Can I barbecue? Complimentary barbecues are provided at Moutcha Bay Resort in several areas, including the garden space at the main lodge, on the grounds of the yurts, and at the top of the marina.
Do I need a fishing licence? All anglers must have a licence to fish the tidal or fresh waters in British Columbia, and must carry their license at all times when on the water. We ask our guests to purchase their licences before arrival to our resorts in order to avoid any possible delays. Visit Fishing Licences for more information.
Do you provide housekeeping? Daily housekeeping service is provided in each guest room except our camping yurt.
Can I purchase a gift certificate? Nootka Marine Adventures gift certificates are a great gift idea for the angler and outdoors lover in your life! We have gift certificates available in any denomination starting at $50. Gift certificates must be applied in a single payment against a reservation at any of our Resorts. Please contact Guest Services for more information on purchasing a gift certificate.
What taxes are applicable to my room reservation? The federal Good and Services Tax (GST) of 5% is applicable to all accommodation bookings, including campsites. An 8% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) is applicable to all guest room, chalet, and yurt bookings.
