More than a haven for fishing enthusiasts, Nootka Marine Adventures provides a variety of accommodations, amenities, and activities for guests of any age and interests across its three unique resorts.

Newton Cove Resort

Name: Newton Cove Resort

Address: Newton Cove, Esperanza Inlet, Tahsis, BC V0P 1X0

Affinity: Floating resort for the avid angler – ideal for families, groups and corporate retreats. Provides easy access to BC’s best salmon & halibut fishing, with the open ocean just around the corner.

Accommodation: 22 suites for up to 44 guests

Dining: In-house Chef provides gourmet meals including breakfast, artisan boxed lunch, fireside appetizers with happy hour, and a four-course dinner including wine pairings

Amenities: Guest lounge, pool and poker table, fish processing services, complimentary access to kayak/SUPs, a 24-hour snack bar and more

Access: Transfer from Moutcha Bay Resort via guide boat, boat or fly-in, with moorage available for boat owners

Season: July – September

Moutcha Bay Resort

Name: Moutcha Bay Resort

Address: Head Bay Rd, Tahsis, BC V0P 1X0

Affinity: Variety of accommodation and activity options makes this ideal for friends and family groups

Accommodation: Up to 120 guests with 23 suites with a wide range of accommodation options including suites at Moutcha Bay Lodge, Yurts, Waterfront Chalets, and 25 campsites

Dining: Conuma Grill restaurant for lunch and dinner

Amenities: Boat and watersport rentals, fish processing services, serviced campgrounds, playground and zipline, full-service marina, guided fishing charters, Nootka Marine Angler’s Academy, Wildlife & Heritage boat tours

Access: Accessible by car approximately two hours from Campbell River, or arrive directly to the docks by floatplane or by boat

Season: May-September

Nootka Sound Resort

Name: Nootka Sound Resort

Address: Galiano Bay, Tahsis, BC V0P 1X0

Affinity: Floating resort for the avid angler – ideal for families, groups and corporate retreats. Surrounded by calm waters and inland fishing.

Accommodation: 30 suites for up to 60 guests

Dining: In house Chef provides gourmet meals including; morning breakfast buffet, boxed lunch, post-fishing appetizers, and a three-course dinner including wine pairing.

Amenities: Guest lounge, pool and poker table, boardroom, fish processing services, complimentary access to kayak/SUPs, a 24-hour snack bar and more

Access: Transfer from Moutcha Bay Resort via guide boat, boat or fly-in, with moorage available for boat owners.

Season: June-August

What’s New and Happening this year at Nootka Marine Adventures

As of 2025, Nootka Marine Adventures proudly boasts the largest fleet of Seakeeper equipped boats in the world. With 12 currently in operation and 8 more on the way in 2025, the fleet will further expand to 27 by the end of the 2026 season. These state-of-the-art boats feature Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilization technology and shockwave seats, significantly reducing motion sickness and setting a new benchmark for guided fishing experiences – making adventures more accessible to all potential wranglers.

On land, there is even more to look forward to. Moutcha Bay Resort is unveiling redesigned Luxury Yurts and Mini Yurts in 2025, showcasing stunning new cedar exteriors and upgraded amenities designed to elevate guest comfort.

Anglers Academy

The Anglers Academy offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience designed to teach saltwater angling skills to both kids and adults of all ages. Available at no extra charge with any guided fishing trip, this engaging course equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to apply their new skills on future fishing adventures. Available at all three Nootka Marine Adventures resorts, the Anglers Academy is perfect for beginners and those looking to refine their techniques.

Guided Fishing

Step aboard Nootka’s premium fleet of 32’ North River and 27’-29’ Pursuit and Trophy guide boats, and fish alongside certified guides renowned for their years of experience in Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet. Departing at sunrise, these tours target salmon, halibut, and albacore tuna, and can last up to 10 hours, offering an unforgettable day on the water.

Self-Guided Fishing

While our guides are among the best, we understand that some anglers prefer the freedom of fishing on their own boat. To cater to this, self-guided rental boats are available at Moutcha Bay Resort and Nootka Sound Resort, with the largest rental boat fleet on Vancouver Island, and moorage offered at all three resorts. Moutcha Bay Resort also offers a full-service marina for added convenience. Additionally, we closely monitor fish returns to the Conuma River, ensuring our guests can enjoy a sustainable and well-managed fishery.

Wildlife & Heritage Tours

Our region’s rich history and diverse wildlife offers endless opportunities for discovery. On our ocean tours, you will have the chance to encounter humpback whales, Stellar sea lions, sea otters, and marbled murrelets, among other incredible marine species. These tours also include a visit to Yuquot (Friendly Cove), a site of deep cultural significance for Mowachaht and Muchalaht people, who have called the area home for millennia.

Nootka Sound Resort

30 suites including 17 King/twin suites, 9 queen suites and 4 two queen bed suites

51 beds for single occupancy or 60 beds for double occupancy

Newton Cove Resort

22 suites King/twin suites (22 single occupancy/ 44 double occupancy)

Dining

Guests of Nootka Marine Adventure’s three resorts can indulge in locally sourced ingredients and carefully curated menus, made possible through our sister company, Seaview Farm in nearby Black Creek. At both Nootka Sound and Newton Cove Resorts a private chef is on hand to craft daily menus featuring hot breakfasts, artisan lunchboxes to enjoy on the water, and multi-course meals paired with fine wines. Moutcha Bay Resort, the largest of the three, offers a fully licensed family restaurant, the Conuma Grill where guests can savour evening ocean views over a glass of BC Wine or local craft beer.
