Our rainforest campground in Moutcha Bay has 28 spacious treed campsites for your tent or RV, all serviced with water and power and accessible to well-maintained washhouses with flush toilets and hot showers. Five newly built waterfront camping yurts offer guests a comfortable camping experience with the convenience of fresh linens and daily housekeeping.

Or choose one of our modern two-storey guest suites in the main lodge, most of which include kitchen facilities and various sleeping configurations. The historic Nootka Sound area is home to countless hiking and ATV trails, gorgeous cave systems, well-maintained boardwalks, and the walkable villages of Gold River and Tahsis. Magnificent forested mountains, pristine freshwater lakes and rivers make the region an outdoors lover’s paradise. The famed 40-kilometre Nootka Trail offers a memorable challenge to backpackers every year. For history lovers, the area is considered to be the birthplace of British Columbia as Captain James Cook was the first European to set foot on BC soil in the spring of 1778. Nootka Sound was also the site of the historically important Nootka Crisis in the late 18th century and it has been home to a National Historic Site, Yuquot, since 1923.

If you are bringing your own boat, our onsite boat launch is complimentary to registered guests. Moutcha Bay Resort is central to the most consistent fishing anywhere on the west coast of BC with enormous migratory and homebound salmon runs every year. If you’d like to bring your catch home perfectly filleted and packaged, drop it off with the friendly team at our government certified fish processing facility, located in the lodge.
